Does anyone really believe the claimed MPG numbers from ICE vehicle manufacturers? The difference between the claimed range and the actual range can be significant. But the value is that they are all tested under identical, supervised, rolling road laboratory conditions by an independent third party. So really all the numbers provide is a reasonably valuable comparison opportunity between different makes and models. NEDC is the same and is an acronym for New European Driving Cycle. It is applied to petrol, diesel, and electric passenger vehicles throughout Europe.
